Neblina (fog in Spanish) represents my environment: I frequently wake up surrounded by fog. This yarn also reflects my surroundings. Naturally dyed with plants saved from my kitchen and foraged from different parks and gardens around my adopted city of Viña del Mar, Chile, on a base of Merino wool from southern Chile, everything about this yarn embodies my local environment. Just as knitting connects us to the simple beauty of making things with our hands, natural dyes reveal the beauty that has always surrounded us in the form of complex and often surprising colors. Los tintes naturales nos conectan con nuestro entorno y el mundo natural. Una gran parte de mi práctica como tintorera es el aprendizaje y convivencia con la naturaleza. La mayoría de las plantas que ocupo para teñir son recolectadas en mis paseos por los parques y las calles de la ciudad y alrededores, o son deshechos de mi cocina, y así son una expresión de mi entorno. Los colores que son revelados a través del proceso de teñido son complejos y sorprendentes. Espero que la belleza sútil de la lana y los tintes naturales inspiren a otras personas a conectar con la naturaleza.
